This is a non-partisan community advisory program, meaning our work is a volunteer effort open to all, regardless of political affiliation, that will advise the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners on cost-saving measures. County Commissioners will not be bound to adopt our solutions.
Our goal is to identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving measures for county services to reduce the tax burden while maintaining or improving service quality.
Our Core Principles:
Community-driven: Residents, businesses, and stakeholders contribute ideas.
Transparent: All submissions, evaluations, and outcomes are publicly accessible.
Collaborative: Involves county officials, community groups, and citizens.
Evidence-based: Proposals are evaluated based on feasibility, cost savings, and impact on services.
STEP 1: Crowdsourcing Solutions
Do you have an idea for how Armstrong County can save money? This can be anything from a simple idea to a well-developed plan with a solid track record of saving taxpayer money elsewhere. Whatever your idea, submit it using the form below!
STEP 2: Community Input
We will hold a Cost-Saving Solutions Summit (Date, Time, and Location TBD) to discuss proposed solutions with county officials, community leaders, and interested residents. Attendees will then score solutions against a proven solution criteria system to find the best overall solutions.
STEP 3: Propose Solutions
The highest-scoring solutions will be further developed into action plans and formally presented to the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners for their consideration. The process will be repeated as often as needed.
This section will be used to display submitted solutions, their criteria score from the Cost-Savings Solution Summit, as well as action plans developed and real-life savings realized if adopted.
